We did stay pre cruise in a hotel in Rome, which was excellent. The Rome experience was fabulous. The ship and the service were beyond my expectations. The dining was excellent, as was our stateroom. The entertainment we found a bit lacking, but perhaps just not to our particular tastes. Others seemed quite satisfied with it. We found the spa a bit lacking too, in that there was not adequate privacy. Some services were better than others, I suppose depending on who gave the service. The ship itself was immaculate. We were disappointed in the shopping selections. We did expect there to be more of a selection. We were more than impressed with the attention to detail from Holland America. The organizational skills were exceptional. We would sail with Hollland America tomorrow if we could.
