Our flight from Toronto to LA was good. A lot of turbulance at one point. That happens. The transfers from the airport to the ship and vice versa were excellent. The check-in at the dock was quick. We did not stay in a hotel at either end of our trip. The Pride is a a beautiful ship. I especially loved all of the crystal vases that were placed throughout. There were so many elevators that you never had to wait more than 30 seconds for one to arrive. All staff onboard were cheerful, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the ports we stopped at and the workings of the ship. We ate nearly all of our meals in the dining room. Other than 1 night in which I did not care for the rice served, everything else was delicious. Our server even brought us banana splits one night as we asked for one and were told it was only listed on the Children's Menu. You really have to include it in the Adult menu. You should also include Ice Cream Sundaes on the Adult Menu. Our cabin was terrific. Large enough for the 3 of us. It's the first ship that I didn't have the shower curtain wrap around me. It was great to be able to get up early in the morning and take photos from the balcony as we cruised into each port. No need to get dressed and go up on deck. The female singer was my only complaint about the evening entertainment. She was loud and off key. Other than that the shows were excellent. The dancers onboard were wonderful and really put on a great show every night. I went to the Art Auction one day and am now kicking myself for not purchasing a Thomas Kinkade print. Next time for sure. I went to Bingo a few times. I spent some time in the Sports Bar watching a bit of the TPC Golf Tournament. We shopped in the stores onboard and were happy with our purchases. I wasn't happy with the photo guy. My camera battery died and I went to him to buy another one. He said he didn't have one. 2 days later, I found the exact same battery on display near the Photo Gallery. I was really ticked because I had gone the whole day in Puerta Vallarta on tour without getting a battery until the end of the day. We posed for photos onboard for the special evenings and purchased a few. But by the time we left, we were sick of having our photos taken by a professional. Who has that kind of money to buy them all? I went to the jewellry seminar onbaord. Sean & Tatyana were very knoweldgeable and helpful. And then when I went shopping in port, I found some of the shops were cheating the tourists. Selling pink silver as rose gold. Selling Brazilian Alexandrite as Russian Alexandrite at inflated Brazilian Alexandrite prices. But it was great to get some free gemstones, charm bracelet with charms, and free drinks too in some shops. The tours I went on were all excellent. The beaches we spent time on were great, but the sand was very hot. Lunches at the restaurants on the beaches were delicious and plentiful. Especially the 2 for 1 Happy Hour in Cabo San Lucas. We had an excellent vacation and would definitely travel with Carnival again.
