We have had 13 previous cruises which we were very happy with, but this cruise on the Crystal Symphony (our first with Crystal Cruise Line) outshone them all. There were many highlights to this cruise but we would have to say that the frinedliness and caring staff made our vacation most memorable. Dining: The food was extremely well prepared with good variety and presentation. Service by all wait staff was exceptional and here the friendliness and happiness of the staff was most obvious. We did try the Asian Specialty dining option and it was excellent and for a very reasonable cost. Accomodation: The stateroom was very clean and well appointed. There was plenty of storage room and service was efficient in making up the room. Entertainment: This was definitely a highlight of our cruise. The on board troupe gave five full length performances in the 11 days and they were exceptionally well done. The ouside entertainers presented a 'classy' show...eg an evening of classical piano, a humerist, etc. Also the lecturers whom we had the opportunity to hear were very interesting and informative. Public Areas: The ship was kept in immaculate condition, the public areas felt very spacious ie. there was never a feeling of being crowded. The shops were interesting but very pricey. We did enjoy the fact that public announcements were kept to a minimum especially since they provided such an informative daily news paper of events, etc. Another thing that impressed us greatly was the efficiency of embarking and disembarking both at visiting ports and at final destination. We personally appreciated being able to bring our daughter on as a guest in one port and to be able to celebrate her birthday with her in style thanks to the dining room staff. All in all we had a wonderful 11 days and would heartily recommend cruising with Crystal to our friends. We realize that they are a little more costly, but they do provide many perks and are definitely worth exploring.
