The Norwegian Gem is a dream - unlike the older ships, the "shower stall" was one that you could actually move around in - so much better! The servers in all restaurants were very friendly and the entertainment professional. We liked the fact that you could eat dinner whenever and wherever you wanted to! Ocenaview room was quite adequate, as we were on "shore excursions" for 7 days of the cruise and were up at 7 a.m. and out for most of the day. The ony complaint we had was that there were 8 computers in the internect cafe. This didn't seem enough for the amount of people on board ship. The only drawback (which had nothing to do with the cruise itself) was the fact that I got sick with a virus on the 4th day out! Fortunately for me, we had 2 "at sea" days, so that did help and then I just took some pills to help relieve the cough and congestion for the last few days. One other event - on the way home - we got to the airport and British Airways told us that "our flight from Barcelona to London - London to Toronto" had been cancelled! After I got over the initial shock and was sent to another counter and then waited in line again, we finally got on the flight to London. At London - we went to see a British Airways representative to get our boarding pass for the flight home to Toronto - and the representative was kind enough to "upgrade" our seats to Business Class, since as she put it "we were very patient and they were looking to upgrade people". So in the end - it all turned out well!
