Really enjoyed the ports visited on this 10 day segment with the exception of Messina in Sicily. As indicated in the HAL Shipboard commentary survey, we would like to spend more time visiting the significant ports of call. Suggested that HAL develop an itinerary that provided between 12 to 36 hour visit time in ports in order to see more and not feel crammed into "Power Touring". Ths ship is a very nice ship and would sail on her again. The Indonesian and Filipino staff were excellent. I would give the Westerdam a top rating of 5 stars in this category. I would also give it a 5 star for cleanliness. I always observed the staff cleaning or polishing. I even was surprised one afternnon when I attended the coffee/tea/water station when out from behind the huge dispensers popped one of the staff who was busily cleaning (on his kness and belly"!!) the small area behind all the beverage dispensers. I would have been sent to a Chiropractor if it had been me. I really was impressed and complimented him on his work to keep our ship clean. Great Job!!
