Costa Cruises are not meant for people from North America. I would not recommend Costa to anyone from North America. They cater strictly to Italians so it seems. The food was good but not up to the par of other cruise lines. The entertianment because of the lack of variety, talent base, and music selection was really terrible, but old italian people seemed to eat it up. If the Chicken Dance is your thing...then go with Costa! The tour operaters did their best, but again with very few English guests, your tours may end up being cancelled or you will have a tour operator that says he speaks english walk you around historical places while saying very little, therefore you leave not really learning anything about the place your visiting. Frustrating for sure, but overall the cruise was an end to a means for me, to see Europe at a glimpse and see where i would like to spend a week or two at another time. If you want to see Europe on a budget and don't mind pushy old Italian people, that even if they knew english wouldn't speak to you, then go with Costa.
