We thought originally that we were leaving from the Brooklyn Docks and driving to New York the night before so we reserved rooms at the Brooklyn Marriott. A 7 mile distance to the New York Manhattan Pier that we found out about after we picked up the tickets. What a terrible (could have been more disastrous) arrival in New York City via New Jersey trying to find the Holland Tunnel and later the Brooklyn Bridge in a rainstorm on FRiday night rushhour! It was horrible! Next day took the 7 mile trip (supposed to be 12 minutes) took close to one hour hustling through the traffic, not sure where were going again. Getting soaked again, trying to park in the parking lot and finally found our way. Beautiful embarkation after receiving wheelchair entrance to the ship. Rooms were ready on time. Beautiful mini-suite with balcony. Lots of room for hanging clothes. (3 in our room) VERY very rocky first night on board, out of New York. Didn't feel like eating much. Stayed awake to the creaking ship the first night. The rest of the cruise was smooth sailing!! Nice buffets...didn't particularly like the dining room menu. Not enough pasta dishes. Service was slow in the Magenta Dining Room. Staff was wonderful, friendly and obliging. The Casino was smokey, VERY smokey. Couldn't stay in there very long, some nights. Ports were wonderful. Loved doing the Bahamas. Had enough of St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, etc. Would do these Ports again. Will leave from New York again with the proper travel instructions and local hotel.
