1. My Dec 19, 2007 letter re: stateroom was supposed to be for 3 adults and was to have 2 beds and a couch or 2 beds and a bunk. When I received my cruise documents I was booked as a "Category Guarantee", carnival assigned our stateroom prior to sailing (M137). When we arrived to our room there was only 2 beds, 2 lifejackets, 2 robes, 2 deck towels. Our room stewart advised our other bed was coming and delivered our 3rd lifejacket. We went immediately to the Pursers Deck to complain about our room. We had to wait in a line up and when our turn arrived they were putting down the shutters and were told it was the safety drill and were told to go get our lifejackets and go to deck 12. The elevators did not work, we had to go back to 5th Floor and walk up to 12th floor. After safety exercise we immediatly went back to Pursers Deck and were told at that time there was nothing they can do they have nothing available and told to contact our travel agent. We asked if we can be upgraded or if someone with a bunk would switch with us. I paid for 3 people and was provided a room allocated for two people. We learned that someone booked 1 week prior to sailing directly with Carnival and they got 3 proper beds (one of the beds was for a child). 2. We requested a dining room time change from 5:45pm to 6:15pm and was told it was not avail, we were only avail for dining room seatings either at 5:45pm or 8:00pm (one of which was to early & the other to late). We were extremely dissappointed in the dining room breakfast, the waffles looked frozen and the fruit is like a jam. Some of the dining room dinners were satisfactory while some were diappointing. At one dinner seating for 8:00pm we were seated at an area the waiters use for dirty dishes. Some of the best meals were in the serve yourself Tiffany Room. 3. It was difficult to find 3 lounge chairs avail on the Lido Deck (smoking deck) becasue it was the pool area designated mostly for children. 4. More help yourself beverage stations should be allocated around the ship as the elevators were extremely slow and beverages only avail on Lido Deck for juice. 5. The safety exercise was very unorganized, I feel that most of it could have been done while waiting to board the ship. We learned at that time that some guests boarded the ship earlier, had time for a nap and buffet, we had arrived in San Diego at the boarding station and had to wait until our number was called in order to board the ship. Why do some people get to board earlier then others? Thank you Ann
