The best thing about the cruise was definitely the ports that we visited. The scenary was breathtaking. That being said, there is definitely room for improvement in how the excursions and exiting from the ship was handled. Each time that we had to disembark from the ship, we went to our meeting area and from the time of meeting, it was at least an hour of waiting prior to disembarking from the ship. The process was often longer when tender boats were envolved. Many of the guests became very frustrated and angry. Once we were off the ship, the excursions were very well planned and very interesting. The quality of the dining room food was excellent. And the service was outstanding. Our cabin steward also provided excellent service - our cabin was tidied twice a day and our bed was turned down each evening. The staff overall were extremely friendly and helpful. My favourite place on the ship was the Solarium at the rear. Because we didn't have great weather during the cruise, it was nice to be in the Solarium, where it was nice and warm and the sun could still shine through even when the air was a little cool outside. I would have liked for the pool and waterslide to be open later so that they could be enjoyed without a bunch of kids being in it. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and met my expectations. I was travelling with my sister who has cruised on numerous ships previously and she decided that she prefers a smaller ship than the Costa Fortuna.
