The best thing about this cruise was the overall experience. This was a 21 day cruise and it was our first cruise. I was worried at the beginning that it might be too long, but as we were nearing the last couple of days I was disappointed that it was coming to an end. The highlight of this cruise was the passage through the Panama Canal. This engineering marvel of its time is something that everyone should try to exprience. Overall, the ship and the crew were excellent and we, along with everyone aboard, were spoiled to bits. The food, entertainment and staterooms were five star. There were some subtle things we noticed. This was a 21 day cruise but it felt like 3 different cruises lumped together. The first 3 days were the last 3 days of a 114 day world cruise and the ship was very quiet and not too busy even though it was full. At Fort Lauderdale the "world cruisers" got off and were replaced by passengers a number of years younger and the ship became a little bit busier. In Los Angeles 800 people disembarked and were replaced by people on a 3 - 4 day cruise to Vancouver or Seattle. This was a much younger group and the ship ship became a lot busier and noisier. Also, some of the menus in the dining room on this last leg went from 2 pages to 1 page. The one thing that was really odd is that we embarked in New York, but the copy of the ship's log that we were given when arriving in Vancouver showed our cruise originating in Fort Lauderdale.
