Pre-Cruise: My father and I stayed over night at the Alyeska Resort prior to the cruise. I would highly recommend this wonderful resort. The staff were very courteous and informative. Our room faced the resort's Tram ride up to the top of Mt. Alyeska. The resort is situated in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness and the views are breathtaking!! The next morning, we were on the HAL tour bus via the beautiful scenic Seward Highway to Seward. Cruise: We enjoyed the the entire trip!! Our Oceanview cabin (374) was perfect. The window was large and the view had very little obstruction, plus we were close to the exit on the Lower Promanade Deck. My father enjoyed the food so much on the Lido Deck we never ate in the Rotterdam Dining Room...we had a great table there, but he preferred the buffet dining. We spent a lot of time outside our cabin, walking around the deck and resting on the lounge chairs wrapped up in Tartan woollen blankets, taking in the spectacular sights. The ship is great and a nice size (1200+ passengers). The Captain and crew are wonderful...we would definately sail again on ms Ryndam.
